TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Phill Kline has filed for a full term as Johnson County district attorney.

If Kline wins the race he'll be able to continue his criminal case against the Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park.

Kline said Tuesday that was one reason he wanted to run for the office. He said he also believes he's compiled a good record as a prosecutor.

Kline was appointed to the job in December 2006 by fellow Republicans to replace Paul Morrison, who won the attorney general's race that year.

Morrison had been a Republican, but switched parties to oust Kline for the state job. Morrison was later forced to resign because of a sex scandal. Kline, an anti-abortion Republican, later filed criminal charges against the Planned Parenthood clinic.
