Families from all over the mid-west grabbed their metal detectors and headed to Lake Shawnee for a day of treasure hunting Sunday.

Lady diggers kicked the day off at nine oh clock Sunday morning. They searched for everything from silver coins to half dollars to tokens for prizes.

The treasure hunt is put on by the Topeka treasure hunters. For more information you can contact the hunt chair at 296-1647.
