Small local businesses can often be overlooked in a growing city, but several in Topeka were recognized Wednesday.

The Topeka Chamber of Commerce small business awards breakfast Wednesday honored three companies.

Architect One -- a firm that has been in Topeka for 19 years.

Dynamic Computer Solutions of Topeka -- serving the technology needs of other small businesses for 24 years.

Heartland Park Topeka -- generating more than $70 million dollars in economic impact.

Kansas City Wizards soccer president Robb Heineman delivered the keynote speech. He emphasized the importance of supporting businesses to improve a community's quality of life.
