Topeka Police have the man in custody who they believe robbed a tire store and fired a shot at a witness.

30-year old Jeremy Beard of Kansas City was found around 5 pm Thursday in the 3300 block of Southeast Ohio in Topeka. Earlier in the day, police took 40-year old David Cox into custody.

Both are accused in Wednesday's robbery of the Expert Tire store near 21st and Fairlawn.

Police say Beard is the one who held up the store and was trying to get away with some cash when he fired a single shot at an employee who chased after him. Luckily, the shot missed. Police say Cox was the one who drove their getaway car.
