The portrait of a local philanthropist now hangs at Washburn University in appreciation of her service.

The school unveiled the painting of Ruth Garvey Fink in the lobby of the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center Tuesday.

Fink passed away last September.

She had served as a trustee of the Washburn Endowment Association since 1960 and carried on a family tradition of supporting Washburn.

Assistant professor of art Ye Wang painted the portrait.
