A big rig blew over on I-70 Wednesday afternoon, keeping the highway shut down for three hours.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says the tractor trailer rig blew over near the Paxico exit just after 3:30 pm, blocking the eastbound lanes. KDOT decided to shut down eastbound I-70 at the K-99 interchange until the wreck was cleared. Eastbound traffic was rerouted north on Hwy. 99 to Hwy. 24, then back to I-70 in Topeka.

The highway reopened around 6:30 pm.
