ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The preliminary hearing in Atchison County court began Tuesday. Roger Hollister, 58, is charged with capital murder in the case.

Key witnesses took the stand, whose answers helped prosecutors submit never-before-seen evidence.

Pat Kimmi's daughter Rita Boller took the stand Tuesday morning, detailing the condition of her mother's house the day after the abduction and describing her father, Eugene Kimmi, as an abusive alcoholic.

Entered as evidence was a ball cap containing Hollister's DNA found near Kimmi's home, and bloody rocks and grass, a bloodied latex glove, cologne bottle, and 81 blood soaked dollars in a silver money clip, the DNA all matching Pat Kimmi.

More evidence included a velvet pouch containing 8 live rounds of 22 magnum ammunition, Kimmi's watch and ring, and human remains, vertebrae and other bones, positively identified as the missing woman.

The packed courtroom finally heard what tipped law enforcement to Hollister, an anonymous phone call. Kimmi's nephew testified that Hollister showed up at the family business, the Kimmi Sawmill, demanding $80 thousand from Eugene Kimmi for taking care of Patricia, or what her nephew says Hollister called Eugene Kimmi's problem.

The preliminary hearing continues tomorrow.
