A Smoke Free Topeka: Good for Health, Image
Not only is this the right thing to do so that workers aren't exposed to any unnecessary occupational hazards, but it will also improve our community image.

Thank you Topeka City Council for passing a clean indoor air ordinance.
A recent poll of Topekans showed 68% support this decision.

This will go great lengths to improve the health of Topekans, especially that of bar and restaurant workers who are often exposed eight or more hours per day.

Are you aware that working in a smoky bar for eight hours is equivalent to smoking sixteen cigarettes? This makes these workers full-time accidental smokers.

Second hand especially of this magnitude, contributes to a significantly increased risk of cancer, heart and lung disease while weakening the immune system.

Not only is this the right thing to do so that workers aren't exposed to any unnecessary occupational hazards, but it will also improve our community image.

This will help in retaining and attracting young professionals. As a former smoker, I understand how difficult it is to quit.

Everyone should try to quit, but if you can't yet thanks for stepping outside.
