Digital Deadline

Many of you have heard that Congress and the President want to extend to June the last day a station can broadcast in analog. The original last day was Tuesday, February 17th.

You've probably seen the announcements that we will actually make our transition on Monday, February 16th at 6pm. Why? Because with the old deadline, by scheduling our transition for one day early, we could possibly miss making such an important change when bad weather threatens.

With the new deadline we have even a great latitude to miss bad weather. But we don't want to go to June 12th as Congress voted. Remember what happened last June 11th and 12th-- the Chapman, Manhattan and other tornados.

We also have worked hard to work with you to be prepared for this change. We've done many tests. Our engineers have helped more than a thousand viewers with their television setups. We believe you are ready as are we.

So we'll be joining Topeka's other stations in transitioning this month. We plan Febraury 16th. The others, February 17th.
