KS Voices - Councilman Preisner Shouldn't Shut Down Meeting Broadcasts
Jeff Preisner proposes shutting down the city's live broadcasts of city council sessions. I want to know why, and I want to invite the Councilman onto our news to discuss his position.

KS Voices - City Council Sessions Should Stay on the Air

I have a very important phone number for you to write down. 368-3710.

That's the phone number for the council office of Councilman Jeff Preisner. Why do I want you to call that number? Because Preisner wants to blind you to the doings of the Topeka City Council.

He's proposed an end to televising council meetings on the City Cable channel. Why?

We really don't know, because Preisner hasn't made himself available to explain his proposal. That's why this phone number is so important. If you support him.

If you believe government is best that is hidden from the people. Call that number and let the members of the city council know.

But if you, like me, thinks that council members have a duty and a responsibility to conduct their business with the highest possible transparency, then I'd like you to use this number to let council members know that Preisner's efforts to blind you should not pass.

Councilman Preisner is invited to come on our air and explain why he thinks its a good idea to blind the people to what the council does. Until then, let him and the other council members know how you feel by calling this number.
