The Truth Takes a Holiday in Ad Attacking Boyda
An outside group misleads the viewer by claiming Boyda, along with her fellow Democrats, voted to go on "vacation" rather than face the country's energy concerns; though it was a staged vote by the GOP to shift blame.

We are about to begin the big political season. Between now and the election in November, you’ll see thousands of ads for, and against, politicians on the WIBW channels.

The First Amendment and our license from the Federal Communications Commission gives me almost NO ability to adjust or change those messages in any way.

But I can tell you when something that is running isn’t fair and hides a larger truth.

You’ve probably seen commercials by an outside group attacking Representative Nancy Boyda for voting to take a “vacation” instead of dealing with energy issues in Congress.

That’s manure. Or a more colorful word if you like.

The Bush Administration and its fellow Republicans in Congress have all but ignored any energy policy other than fatten the big oil companies.

Then it staged a vote to make it look like it was Nancy Boyda and other Democrats in Congress fault for a lack of action.

Untrue.

Unfair.

I want to know what you think. Leave me a comment in Kansas Voices or drop me an email at jim.ogle@wibw.com.
