It’s a lot more fun to tell you good news than bad. Congratulations Topeka!

During the holidays, we asked you join us in fighting property crime in the Capital City.

We showed you how if you would “Lock it, Remove it, or lose it” we could have a dramatic effect on crime.

The december crime numbers are in; listen to what you accomplished.

Thefts, like stealing valuables from cars, were down 40% compared to December 2006 which helped our overall crime rate for the month to fall more than 29%! For the year, crime in topeka fell, nearly 10%.

How many communities in the country can point to such a dramatic decrease in crime?

By many of us working together, we’ve taken a dramatic step in making this the country’s safest capital city.

Imagine what we can accomplish if we looked for more ways to work together than pull us apart.

I want to know what you think.
