Lyon Co. Sheriff Gary Eichorn has handed over a lengthy affidavit to the County Attorney's Office regarding the shooting death of Beau Arndt earlier this month, according to KVOE news.

Now, County Attorney Marc Goodman must review the paperwork and decide whether to press charges against the three men involved in the shooting.

Earlier this month, Arndt was killed while hunting when the three men passed him at Roads 310 and "D" in a pickup truck.

Sheriff Eichorn has declined to release the three men's names, including the one who allegedly shot Arndt, until arrest warrants are issued.

Remembering Beau Arndt

Arndt's death inspired Jackie Leffler and Erik Pracht to remember their friend with a decal and plan to donate the proceeds to the Arndt family for hunter safety.

The pair are selling the decals for $10 and have sold around two hundred so far. This Saturday, they will head to Hair Krafters, 1027 Commercial, where they will be on sale from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; a sign-up sheet will also be at Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply.

Anyone who wants to buy a decal or more information can call Leffler at 366-2533 or Pracht at 767-2678

Sure this was an accident but a person driving drunk & kills someone, they are usually tried for manslaughter. The person that killed the boy did 3 illegal acts--#1 shooting from a vehicle, #2 with a rifle. #3 & did not have owner's permission to hunt. Also these 3 men must either have money or are very influential persons in Topeka because their names have not been released. Their names & especially the shooter's name needs to released NOW!!! These men give REAL hunters a bad name. It sounds like they are sorry But so are DUI persons that kill someone. The boy is dead because of their STUPIDITY & being TOO LAZY to get out of the truck. They should have known shooting at water foul with a rifle is also AGAINST THE LAW!!!!! PRESS CHARGES & LET US KNOW THEIR NAMES NOW!!!!!!

It may have been an accident, but as indicated thus far, the people in the truck did not turn themselves in, but have since "lawyered up". Even at that, names should be released to even protect other hunters this winter. What will be the charges from Kansa Fish & Game?
