AMERICUS, Kan. (AP) _ Lyon County officers are investigating the
death of a 19-year-old Americus man who was shot while hunting.
Beau Arndt died early yesterday when he and a friend were
hunting fowl on property in northwest Lyon County.
Arndt graduated from Northern Heights High School in May.
Lyon County sheriff's authorities are trying to locate a vehicle
of interest in the shooting. The late-1970s Ford pickup with a red
cab has Shawnee County license plates.
Early, unconfirmed reports from witnesses said Arndt may have
been hit by shots from the truck, although Lyon County authorities
are calling the shooting an accident.
