With gas prices rising higher and higher, many drivers are trying a dangerous technique called drafting to save money and fuel.

Drivers can be seen tailgating semi trucks as they cruise down the highway to cut down on wind resistance so cars get better gas mileage. The idea comes from NASCAR drivers who draft at high speeds to save fuel at the end of a big race.

Truckers say they see it happen all the time.

"I'm very leery. It's scary," says truck driver Jonas Rives. "It's dangerous when it happens to me. I just slow down and let them pass."

State Trooper Gary Warner says it's best to keep a minimum distance of about two seconds between you and the driver ahead of you. He urges even more than that. Plus, Warner says, the fine for tailgating is about $200.00.
