Two Wichita families forced out of their homes after their duplex caught fire early this morning.
The fire started shortly after 1 a.m. When fire crews arrived, they found flames pouring out of one side of the duplex and the roof.
Wichita Fire Capt. Bob Wolf said the fire was so strong, they had to battle flames from the outside. But he added, they were able to quickly put out the flames and extinguish it from the inside.
One side of the duplex is a total loss. The heavy damage sustained is forcing crews t shut down power to the building. However, fire crews were able to keep flames from spreading to the other side of the duplex.
No one was hurt in the fire. Investigators are determining a cause.
