A Wichita daycare owner's license has been suspended after a 1-year-old girl dies from being strapped in an infant car seat that was too small for her for more than two hours.

The child was found not breathing this week at the daycare in the 1300 block of North Parkwood. The girl later died.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says daycare owner Jessica Cummings had strapped the child into a car seat that was too small for her, then placed her in a bathroom.

When Cummings returned more than two hours later, the child was not breathing. KDHE says it suspended Cumming's license to protect the safety of other children.
