Decatur County Accident Leaves 1 Dead, 4 injured Save Email Print

One person is dead and four others are injured after a Saturday evening accident in Decatur County in Northwest Kansas.

The accident occured just after 6 p.m. when the 16-year-old driver of an SUV was going westbound on Decatur County Road, just southeast of Oberlin, and lost contol. The vehicle entered the ditch and overturned, ejecting all but one person.

34 year-old Dwayne Dickinson of Oberlin died in the accident. The driver and two passengers were air lifted to a hospital in Denver. A fourth passenger was taken to a hospital in Oberlin.

None of the 5 people in the vehicle were wearing a seat belt.
