TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Lawmakers plan to tackle the daunting task of abortion this week at the State House.
The House Federal and State Affairs Committee plans to vote on a bill that deals with two issues raised by abortion providers in state and federal lawsuits challenging anti-abortion laws enacted a year ago.
One item would revise a requirement that home pages on abortion providers websites link to a state health department site with information about fetal development and pregnancy.
Another would change language in provisions of state law that handles medical emergencies where abortion restrictions are waived.
