TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The head of the Kansas Corporation Commission is out of a job.
Executive Director Patti Petersen-Klein's departure lands the same week a consumer agency accused the commission of violating the state's open meeting law. The KCC would not comment on whether or not the two are connected.
A KCC spokesperson would only tell 13 News that "Executive Director Patti Petersen-Klein is no longer employed by the Kansas Corporation Commission."
On Tuesday, the Citizens' Utility Ratepayer Board filed a complaint with prosecutors saying KCC may have been routinely violating the open meetings law for the last four years by using a practice called "pink sheeting" to make decisions without a public meeting.
