LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Three judges who graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law will be honored for their public service and contributions to the legal community.
The awards will be presented Saturday during a ceremony in Lawrence to honor distinguished alumni.
This year's honorees are retired Kansas Supreme Court Justice Edward Larson, Judge Mary Murguia of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Julie Robinson of the U.S. District Court in Kansas.
Larson graduated from the law school in 1960 and was appointed to the state Supreme Court in 1995.
Murguia graduated in 1985 and was appointed to the federal appeals court in 2010.
Robinson, a 1981 graduate, was named to the federal district court in 2001 after serving as a federal bankruptcy judge.
