WIBW RADIO -- 580 Radio's "On the Other Hand" departed Topeka's airwaves Thursday, after last week's announcement from co-host Megan Mosack that she was leaving the station, and radio work, to devote more time to her family and raising her young children.
Mosack, an anchor for KTKA-TV in her local television career, hit her stride as a journalist when paired with Raubin Pierce for the radio show, which spanned a decade on WIBW Radio. The show, with its fiercely loyal followed and fierce detractors, took to local issues head on.. providing behind the headlines information on a wide assortment of local topics.
Pierce departed the show last month, accepting a job to manage the radio company which operates KMAN in Manhattan.
Final guest Jim Ogle of WIBW-TV discussed yesterday's incident at the television station on Commerce Place, where a veteran, angry that his story was not being covered by local reporters.
Today's last broadcast means there will not be an investigative reporting type radio show done locally. Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace radio show occupies the 2:00 to 4:00pm time slot the show recently moved to.
