TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Votes from a special election held on Tuesday will not count.
State officials are questioning the legality of the election, saying it is unclear if the law gave local election officials the right to order a special election.
The decision to not count the votes will not alter the outcome of the GOP nomination for the Kansas House District 52 seat.
The re-vote was ordered after more than 420 Shawnee County voters received the wrong ballots during the August 7 primary.
Shanti Ghandi will face democrat Ted Ensley for the seat in the November election.
