Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) spoke from the floor of the US Senate on the on the eve of the 70th anniversary of D-Day and asked that his collegues put politics asside and pass legislation that can fix the failurse of the Veterans Administraton.
"My plea is to the Democrat leaders, to the Republican leaders, to individual senators, whatever party they are, let's not follow the path that we have followed so many times in the short period of time that I've been here in which there's a Republican plan to fix a problem and there's a Democrat plan to fix a problem. Surely our veterans deserve something more than each of us being able to say we cast a vote for their benefit. Surely they deserve the opportunity to actually have legislation that will address the challenges and problems at the Department of Veterans Affairs.”
