Pentagon Planning Nigerian Support Efforts

(CNN) -- The Pentagon has started to plan for ways to support Nigerian efforts to rescue schoolgirls kidnapped by the Boko Haram militant group, a senior U.S. military official told CNN on Wednesday. But at this point, the initiative is not likely to result in U.S. troops engaging in any operations, several officials told CNN.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congresswoman Karen Bass and other members of Congress hold a news conference at the Nigerian Embassy to discuss the recent kidnapping of Nigerian woman and girls from the Chibok Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Nigeria.
