TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two leading Kansas conservatives are supporting a state House member in his bid for the Kansas Senate.
Secretary of State Kris Kobach and 1st District Congressman Tim Huelskamp announced endorsements of Joe Patton. The three-term state rep is trying to unseat two-term incumbent Vicki Schmidt in the GOP primary for the 20th Senate district.
Kobach called Patton the "real Republican" in the race, while Huelskamp cited Patton's support of traditional values.
Schmidt picked up the endorsement Thursday of former Sen. Bob Dole.
