Sen. Jerry Moran and Rep. Lynn Jenkins
(WIBW) - Two Kansas Republicans are taking on different leadership roles in Washington.
U.S. Senator Jerry Moran was elected by the Senate Republican Conference to be chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He will oversee fundraising for future Senate candidates.
U.S. Representative Lynn Jenkins was elected vice-chair of the House Republican Conference. She will act as the media go-to for House Republicans.
Their Kansas Congressional delegation colleague, Sen. Pat Roberts offered his congratulations.
“I am proud of Jerry and Lynn’s willingness to take on more responsibility by fighting for offices in party leadership," Roberts said in a statement. "I am pleased these Kansas leaders will be in key positions to preserve our majority in the House and take back the Senate. I look forward to working with them on addressing the issues facing our state, the nation and our party.”
