An influential clerk who has served Kansas courts for nearly two dozen years is retiring.
After nearly 23 years on the job, Carol Green is stepping down as Clerk of the Appellate Courts.
Green's duties included managing the Clerk of the Appellate Sourts' office, which processes case files for the Kansas Supreme Sourt and Court of appeals in Topeka.
Her other duties included overseeing 45 bar exams and 46 swearing in ceremonies involving nearly 10,000 attorneys.
Before becoming Clerk of the Appellate Courts, Green served as Director of Central Research staff, which was a pool of attorneys who supported the court of appeals.
