TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - After 5,000 state employees lost a collective 44,000 pounds in the Governor's Weight Loss Challenge, Sam Brownback is challenging them to keep it off!

Brownback, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and Blue Cross Blue Shield announced an online exercise tracking program Friday.

"Move Across Kansas" can be used to monitor weight loss by taking participants on a virtual tour of the state. Each physical activity you log, takes you further across the Kansas map, learning about different exercise locations.

Brownback urges Kansans to take advantage of the state's many exercise resources.

"We're adding more and more opportunities for people to get outside," said Brownback. "Families, businesses and communities are all better served when we can reduce the risk for illness and disease like diabetes, heart disease and stroke."

Starting July 1st, you can participate at www.kdheks.gov or call 296-5795 to track your health without a computer.
