WASHINGTON, D.C. (WIBW)– Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (R-KS), questioned Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Wednesday regarding the President’s FY2015 budget proposal at the House Ways and Means Committee hearing.
After questioning Secretary Sebelius, Congresswoman Jenkins said:
“The president’s healthcare law is not working. I know this, the American people know this, and the Administration knows this. However, despite all the broken promises from this law, the President’s budget requests another $1.8 billion for its implementation.
Jenkins added, “Every time we turn around, it seems the cost of this law is rising and the Administration has issued another delay. What happened to the President’s promise that he would not add “one dime to the deficit” or Secretary Sebelius’s promise that she doesn’t anticipate any more delays?
“The bottom line is the uncertainty and cost of the president’s healthcare law is hurting the American people. This law needs real change and with enrollment numbers well short of expectations with just weeks left to get people signed up, it is time we work together and provide relief for all Americans. The House will continue to provide legal solutions and pass legislation like my bill to save money and decrease the cost of this law.”
Jenkins quoted the GAO analysis showing a $6 Trillion cost found at this link. CLICK HERE
