TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - City officials are working to create a new notification process for developers and Topeka residents.
In a press release sent out today, City Manager Jim Colson announced the Victory Village apartment development project would be the first item on the list during Tuesday's City Council Meeting as part of the new procedure.
He hopes it will give the community a fair chance to weigh in.
The Victory Village development would be designed for veterans, and located on the southeast corner of the Veterans Affairs property.
The new citizen participation model will make developers responsible for notifying all residents, businesses, and neighborhoods involved in the proposed development site.
Developers will also be required to hold public hearings on their proposals.
Colson will pull the resolution for low income tax credits for Victory Village from Tuesday's agenda. It will be discussed at a later date.
