Gov. Brownback and other state officials will be visiting Baxter Springs to view emergency response operations in action.
Gov. Brownback will be accompanied by Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, Tim Shallenburger the legislative policy director and Maj. Gen. Lee Tafanelli, the adjutant general and director of the Kansas Division of Emergency Management will be at the Central Elementary School Football field about 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The Kansas Department of Transportation reports that US-69A is closed at Baxter Springs because of storm debris.
