TOPEKA (WIBW) -- Shawnee County Election Commissioner Andrew Howell is extending his office hours to assist Shawnee County registered voters that wish to vote in person in the Shawnee County Election Office for the 2014 Primary Election. Beginning Monday, July 28th and continuing through Friday, August 1st, the Election Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Election Office, located at 911 SW 37th Street in Topeka, is not open on Saturday or Sunday. Advance voting in person in the Election Office will end on Monday August 4th at 12:00 Noon.
Voters may also have a ballot mailed to them in advance by completing an application from the election office web site at: http://www.snco.us/election/document
or by calling the Election Office at (785) 251-5900 and requesting an application to be mailed to them. Completed applications may be returned by mail or faxed to the Election Office at (785) 266-0299. The last day for the Election Office to mail out Advance Ballots is Friday, August 1st. All voted mailed advanced ballots must be returned to the Election Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, August 5th.
Applications for Advanced Ballots must include a copy of the voter’s photo identification or include the number of the applicant’s Kansas driver’s license or Kansas nondriver’s identification card.
