TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A new computer system purchase was a big discussion at today's Shawnee County Commissioners meeting.
Information Technology Director Pat Oblander spoke to commissioners today about setting up a purchase of a virtualization platform for Shawnee County, at a cost of $1.5 million by county tax payers.
The technology department is in negotiations with Alexander Open Systems for the purchase. The platform would take each individual server throughout the county and put the computers under one central location.
Commissioners say they will not consider any budget spending until after next year.
