KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ President Bush will be in Kansas City next week to address the national Veterans of Foreign Wars convention.
The six-day convention begins on Saturday. It's expected to attract more than 12,000 visitors to Kansas City, where the VFW's national headquarters has been located since 1930.
Bush is scheduled to speak on Wednesday, but the time hasn't been announced. There has been speculation that Bush could use his appearance to discuss the upcoming report to Congress on the U.S. troop surge in Iraq.
Several other presidential candidates are set to make an appearance.
