ST. LOUIS (AP) _ A political consultant is accused of stealing
more than 220-thousand dollars from a St. Louis Community College
Steven Wyatt Earp of Fenton was arrested yesterday on four
stealing charges filed Monday. Prosecutors say evidence shows Earp used the money to buy a BMW, a Lexus and an engagement ring.
The man's attorney, Clinton Wright, says Earp is innocent and
plans to fight the charges. The money in question was from an unsuccessful drive to pass a property tax increase in April of last year.
