In the Kansas race for U.S. Senate Democrat Jim Slattery met with the Topeka South Rotary club while Republican Senator Pat Roberts spoke at a Chamber of Commerce Forum.

Both spoke about the concern for energy.

"As citizens we have a duty to hold our elected officials responsible for failing to deal with energy problems..." says Jim Slattery, Democratic Candidate for U. S. Senate.

Republican Senator Pat Roberts says, "I hope Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will allow us both democrat and republicans a realistic and comprehensive energy bill where everything is on the table."

Roberts says that on his 105 county listening tour the number one issue has been about energy and gas prices. He hopes to make a diffrence in the way the leadership in Washington, D.C. is voting.

Slattery is looking forward to the debates.
