MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. (AP) _ A coin toss decides a north-central Kansas township primary that ended in a tie, but the winner now says he doesn't want the nomination.

A town trustee race in Ottawa County in the Aug. 5 primary resulted in a 5-5 tie between Democrats Robert Duggan and Tommy Barrett II. After Duggan won a coin toss at the county courthouse Monday, he told Lincoln Township officials he didn't want the position.

Duggan's withdrawal results in an open position on the November ballot for township trustee.
