Sebelius Plans to Attend Kansas Soldier's Funeral

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Gov. Kathleen Sebelius plans to attend the funeral of the latest Kansas National Guard soldier killed in Iraq.

The service for Spc. Ronald Andrew Schmidt is 10 a.m. Wednesday
at Grace Community Church in Newton. He died Aug. 3 from injuries he received when his vehicle rolled over while he was on patrol. He was assigned to a field artillery unit with the Kansas Army National Guard.

Schmidt was the 10th Guard member to die in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Sebelius has attended all previous Guard members' funerals.
