CHICAGO (AP) _ Jesse Jackson says he's apologized to Barack
Obama's campaign for what Jackson calls a ``crude'' comment made
near a microphone he thought was off.

Fox News says Jackson made the comment Sunday during a live appearance on its show ``Fox & Friends.'' Jackson has told CNN that
he was mentioning that Obama's speeches in black churches ``can
come off as speaking down to black people.'' He says he doesn't remember exactly what his crude comment was, but that he is ``very
sorry.''

Jackson says his support for Obama's campaign is ``wide, deep and unequivocal.''

The Obama campaign says it accepts Jackson's apology, but that
Obama will continue to speak out.
