The Kansas legislature is rolling into its final month of the session but Topeka has handed over its request list for lawmakers.

Council members approved the city's legislative agenda, which is said to include lobbying for Topeka to add a gasoline tax levy set aside for street improvements.

Next week, the council will debate some other ideas on how to pay for street repairs in the city.

Also Tuesday, Mayor Bill Bunten proclaimed Wednesday Alice Bertels day.
