CINCINNATI (AP) _ Governor Sebelius says she's concentrating on
her Kansas job, and is not thinking about speculation that she is a
potential running mate for Barack Obama.
Sebelius was in Ohio Wednesday promoting Obama's campaign. She is a Ohio native and her father is a former governor of that state.
She sidestepped questions about a potential vice presidential bid, saying she was just trying to do what she can to help him win the Democratic nomination.
Sebelius was mentioned on lists of potential vice presidential running mates for nominee John Kerry in 2004. After her re-election in 2006, she gained added national attention by giving the Democratic response to President Bush's latest State of the Union address.
She and her father, John Gilligan, are the only father-daughter governors in U.S. history.
