Sen. Barack Obama defeated Sen. Hillary Clinton in the majority of Kansas Democratic caucus sites.

With 92-percent of the sites reporting, Obama had 72.1-percent of the vote to Clinton's 26.3-percent.

Individual sites of interest:
Robinson Middle School, Topeka: 75-percent Obama; 25-percent Clinton (847 participants)
Highland Park High School, Topeka: 80-percent Obama; 20-percent Clinton (900 participants)
Topeka West High School: 74-percent Obama; 19-percent Clinton (1374 participants)

Of 41 sites reporting by 10:30 pm, Clinton managed to gain more than 40-percent of the vote at only seven of them. She won only one - a Paola site where the tally was 51- to 49-percent.

Most caucus sites report standing-room only crowds. The site at Abe and Jake's in Lawrence actually spilled over to Liberty Hall when turnout exceeded expectations. A location in Wichita had nearly 1600 participants.
