A Congressional delegation from Kansas got an opportunity to see how federal dollars are used to keep local citizens safe.
Topeka Police Chief Ron Miller invited the group for a discussion and tour of the police station. Officials say it gave the guests a chance to see how important funding is as well as giving them a better idea of how the department works and the crime trends they are dealing with.
Congresswoman Nancy Boyda and representatives of Senator Sam Brownback and Senator Pat Roberts attended. The police had a bomb robot demonstration and showed the group how tasers works.
