An Illinois man is going to jail for 3 years after refusing to pay his $70 dinner bill, according to the Journal Gazette and Times Courier.
The 47-year-old man was caught and charged twice within one month for similar crimes.
Why the 3 year sentence? Jc-tc.com explains:
"A theft of that amount is normally a misdemeanor offense but Malabehar was charged with a felony because of his criminal record, which apparently includes several theft and other property offense convictions in Cook County."
