TEHACHAPI, Calif. (CBS) -- KBAK-TV reporter Tom Murphy was near Lake Isabella in Kern County Thursday, covering recent snowfall, when he got into a snowball fight with children in the area.

At one point during the live news cast, he launches a snowball, and hits a boy right in the back of the head. After the live shot was over, Murphy said the boy popped back up and continued the snow war, unscathed.

Kern County is part of California's Central Valley, where an extreme drought is impacting farming and air quality.
