SANFORD, Fla. (AP) - A judge in Florida says George Zimmerman can be released on $150,000 bail as he awaits trial for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
Details still need to be worked out, but the judge says Zimmerman may be allowed to leave the state because of concerns about his safety. He'll have to wear an electronic monitoring device.
During Friday's hearing, Zimmerman apologized to Martin's parents, saying he didn't know the teen was unarmed. He's charged with second-degree murder, and claims self-defense.
