(CBS News) A large boat exploded off the coast of New Jersey near the town of Sandy Hook, sending nearly two dozen passengers overboard and causing several injuries, reports NJ.com.
Emergency crews and rescue helicopters gathered onshore nearby late Monday. CBS 2-TV in New York reports there were 21 people on board the boat, and seven were injured.
An emergency call reporting the explosion, which happened about 17 1/2 miles out to sea and east of Sandy Hook, came in around 4:20 p.m., CBS 2 reports.
The yacht was identified as "Blind Date."
Officials say all passengers have been accounted for, CBS 2 reports.
