Wisconsin Recall 100K

(CNN) -- The Progressive Change Campaign Committee announced on Saturday it is spending $100,000 in the last five days before the Wisconsin gubernatorial recall vote.

This latest spend brings the PCCC's investment supporting the recall of Republican Gov. Scott Walker, plus his lieutenant and several state legislators, to $300,000, the group said, with two thirds of that coming in the last two weeks.

The election, which is now three days away, has seen investments and visits from national groups and high profile politicians.

President Bill Clinton campaigned on Friday for Democratic candidate Tom Barrett, who is the mayor of Milwaukee.

Barrett also saw campaign support from Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

On the Republican side, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley have visited the state to support Walker.

Haley argued in a Friday campaign stop that a win for Walker would set a precedent for the power of governors nationwide.

Although he was in neighboring Minnesota on Friday, President Barack Obama has not been in Wisconsin. His campaign told CNN that he supports Barrett. Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, a Republican who is on the recall ballot, said Obama's absence "speaks volumes" and that he "doesn't want to be associated with a losing campaign."

The three most recent polls of Wisconsin voters show Walker ahead of Barrett, and campaign financial filings showed Walker ahead in recent fundraising, too.

The latest $100,000 from the PCCC includes $31,000 for television and online advertizing, the group said, and $71,000 for the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Prior investments in the race included funds for field operations, the group said.

The recall was spurred by a Walker-backed law, signed in March 2011, to limit the collective bargaining rights of state worker unions.

Voters are to cast their ballots on Tuesday.
