Portsmouth, New Hampshire (CNN) - Could it be another try out for running mate?
One week after Mitt Romney teamed up with Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, he will join forces Monday with Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, at a campaign event along the state's seacoast.
Like Rubio, Ayotte is one of the people that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has said he would consider as his running mate on the Republican ticket.
Ayotte served as New Hampshire's attorney general before winning election to the Senate in 2010. She endorsed Romney last November and campaigned with him ahead of the Granite State's first-in-the-nation primary in early January.
Romney and Ayotte are scheduled to tour the Portsmouth, New Hampshire fish pier, where the former governor of neighboring Massachusetts is expected to talk about the economy.
The trip is Romney's second to the important battleground state in less than a week. Last Tuesday night, after sweeping five primaries, Romney gave a speech in Manchester, New Hampshire that was designed to mark the end of the battle for the GOP nomination and pivot to the general election contest against President Barack Obama.
Later Monday, Romney will head to a fundraiser in Boston, according to a campaign aide.
